A celebration of the LP, the long-player, the album music format. Reviews, recommendations and discussion.
Forget singles, forget individual tracks, the album is what it’s all about. As an avid fan of the LP there is nothing I like more than discovering a new album by an artist either well known or obscure that astounds from start to finish. No filler just amazing music from the first note to the last.
I try to listen to at least one new album every week; and when I say ‘new’ I mean new to me, I don’t mind if it was released in 2012, 1982 or 1952. All genres of popular music are welcome……though I will admit that jazz and country are not quite my thing.
I’ll be using this blog to review albums (focussing on the original album format and tracklisting….bonus tracks won’t be included) and generally bang on about why we should all be listening to LPs whether vinyl, CD or downloads
Any other LP lovers out there please share your thoughts and recommendations.
Remember it’s All About The Album
Nice site – I’m also a huge believer in a proper record. There’s something about the tracklisting of side A / side B of an LP or cassette that CD’s & downloads just don’t capture – looking forward to the reviews!
Thanks. I do download as it can be so convenient, but when it’s an album by one if my favourite artist it has to be a physical copy. I don’t mind cds but the big artwork of a vinyl has to be the most satisfying.
